Privacy Policy

Paivio Labs is a deck marketplace for the Paivio study app. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, where it is stored, and what we do with it.

What we collect

  • Your account email. Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth, and the same account is shared with the Paivio app. We store the email address you register with so we can sign you in and reach you about your account.
  • Deck content you upload. If you publish decks, we store the deck files you upload, including card text and any embedded media such as images and audio.
  • Deck metadata. Titles, descriptions, subjects, version history, and changelogs for the decks you publish.
  • Install counts. We count how many times a deck is installed so we can rank and display the marketplace. These counts are aggregated per deck.
  • Grant audit records. When a deck is installed into Paivio, we keep a record of the grant so we can verify access and investigate abuse.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data to anyone, for any reason.
  • We do not run third-party advertising or ad trackers.
  • We do not run analytics products. The only logs we keep are the operational logs our hosting providers generate to keep the service running.

Where your data lives

The database and uploaded deck files are stored with Supabase. The website and API are hosted on Vercel. Both process data on our behalf under their own security programs.

Published decks are public

Once a deck is published, its content and media are publicly visible to anyone who visits the marketplace, whether or not they have an account. Before you publish, make sure you have the rights to share everything in the deck. Do not upload copyrighted material you are not allowed to distribute, and do not include personal information about other people in your cards.

Deleting your account or decks

You can request deletion of your account, your decks, or both by emailing us. We will remove your decks from the marketplace and delete your account data within a reasonable time. Decks already installed by other users may remain in their Paivio libraries.
